We woke up on the Saturday morning on time which wasn’t expected. That morning we lounged around and joked about the night before, particularly Kiernan coming back at 3 in the morning and air horse riding me whilst calling me Seabiscuit. Lovely haha. After about an hour watching Crystal Maze we all were ready and set off towards London. Again we split up with most going to Kev, Gem, Ril, Cara, Leon and Stephie’s hotel and Ste and myself heading to Regents Park.
We passed through Wembley on the way back and Ste dropped me off whilst he scoured London for a parking space. I made my way to Regents Park to find Christy, V, Gemsy, Anna, Sophi, Wishmaster and others sitting around chatting. It wasn’t the best days for a trip to the park but it was great to have a chat. Gemsy and Anna kept singing Erasure and as usual it was stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Damn them haha. After a while of ice breaking and jokes it started raining so we legged it and invaded the band stand to take shelter. There was thunder and lightening which was so loud, it was awesome. Eventually more and more people turned up and eventually I made everyone decide what we wanted to do which was to go to the pub. I told Kazzie that since she was wearing the brightest clothing that she should lead with the specific instructions to find a pub that wasn’t a Wetherspoons.
Shock horror, we ended up in a Wetherspoons but Kazzie did well as it was a really big and quite nice one. Props to Kazzie haha. It was very much a big meet and greet and there was some great times. In particular me and Blee insulting each other the way we always do, Christy drawing me a map of where the Isle of Man is, me making them new Love Boat threads on the board because their’s were deleted and Kazzie spitting up her drink from laughing. By about 4 we decided that it was about time to head to Wembley so we all hopped on the tube and went on our way. Before hand in the pub I joked with Christy about how she was meant to text me or something, I can’t quite remember so on the tube she text “tube olol”, this was the beginning of the lamest ongoing joke ever haha!
We arrived at Wembley Park and it was suprisingly sparce, we were on time to catch Rodrigo Y Gabriella perform so we strolled up. I’ve been to Wembley Arena so much and I’ve seen the construction of the new stadium and it’s never looked quite so big. That is until you get within the circular walk around it. It’s unbelievably massive. We entrance B folk all stuck together and went in. Rodrigo Y Gabriella were performing already and even though they are just two people with acoustic guitars they filled the stadium with such brilliant music, I was really shocked.
Christy and I kept up the lame joke by texting each other the most stupid things ever. “wembley olol”, “dirty pretty things olol”, “dry your eyes mate olol”, etc. It was silly but I was laughing so much. Dirty Pretty Things were okay but nothing too special. The Streets were good but Mike Skinner kept trying to get us to clap to Radio GaGa which we were having none of. It’s a Muse gig, not a Queen tribute day.
Some decided to get a bit closer to the stage by moving to the left while we stayed where we were by the sound desk. I spotted Tom Kirk and shouted at the top of my voice only for him to totally not hear me, it was that loud haha. Where we were paid off though as Muse ended up making their entrance up from the sound desk to Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, it was incredible.
The gig went on and was spectacular and utterly phenomenal. What made it better was seeing it with people I knew who loved Muse just as much as me. The highlights were definitely the singing together, jumping around like maniacs and our reactions to Blackout and Soldier’s Poem. It was a fantastic gig, possibly the best I’ve ever been to.
Afterwards we headed back and after a long walk Ste and I made it to Kazzie’s first. We all spoke for a bit, Blee and I had a gossip and we went to sleep, exhausted and excited for the gig the next day.
