I arose at 10:30 and didn’t leave my bed until I absolutely had to, which meant I got about 15 minutes extra sleep which was glorious! Luckily most of my things were already packed from the night before, I just needed to wash and get dressed. We all were ready to go on time except for Kazzie who took until 11:53 to leave the room, the cleaner was a little peeved but it was so funny watching him constantly badger her so he could do his job. We decided to leave a message from us all in the guestbook, my contribution consisted of “We came. We saw. We conquered.” and the address to the Muse Board for Kev’s fangirls to hunt him down.
For the rest of the day we travelled around Stockholm to see some sights since we hadn’t actually soaked up any culture since arriving. We stopped for the last round of tacos (hardly culture but was awesome). On the way past the royal place of work we found a really wide bridge and played pooh sticks, I only came 3rd but it was so funny acting like children and playing games.
We headed into Centralen and visited a church where we took a lot of photos. Being the pope I decided to get some pondering and sermon shots which turned out pretty awesome. We also messed around and got some pictures of me reading the devil’s book (Harry Potter) in there which amused me for the rest of the day.
After the church we visited a lot of shops, Kazzie ventured into one and insisted that there would be glowsticks and low and behold she was right! 50 glowsticks for 200 kronor, which is quite the rip off considering Wilkos sell 15 for 99p here but it was worth every kronor in the end as they were the source of much fun. There were quite a lot of Camdenesque shops in Stockholm, Kev decided he wanted to shop for a gimp style jacket and boots which looked crazy. We also encountered some rather questionable girls/boys. Next door however, I found the best coat I’ve seen. It was like a skins costume wardrobe.
After the shopping the hunger kicked in so we went on the hunt for sushi, which wasn’t hard considering the abundance of Sushi restaurants in Stockholm…the problem was our standards. Eventually we found this cosy little restaurant which was 5 minutes from the coach station. Kev and Inn ordered so much, whilst I got a small 4 piece meal with a gorgeous shrimp nigiri and salmon that melted so softly…lovely stuff. Kazzie on the otherhand merely stole my prawn crackers, the cheeky scamp!
Full to the brim with Sushi in our guts, we hopped on the coach to the airport and waved our goodbyes to Stockholm. The coach trip back to the airport went really quickly, mainly because of the DSing with lots of rounds of picture drawing. No bob though so there was a lack of upskirt drawings haha. After what seemed like half and hour we arrived at the airport which seemed a bit bigger than when we arrived, still no Heathrow though. I ordered what would be my last pear cider whilst the others bought some last minute gifts for people. We went through passport control, it was so slack. They had the routine metal detectors but there was about 2 staff…mental. So we hopped on the plane and began the flight back to England.
Kazzie’s friend was on the plane from Sweden to Stanstead as he was a trolly dolly. He saved us the best seats and was such a laugh. At one point Kazzie and I were talking to him in the galley at the back of the plane, we dimmed the lights and we raved with glowsticks. It was hilarious! Apparently a few people were peeved because we were barely in our seats for the flight but we had so much fun. After the flight we met the pilot and saw the cockpit….kazzie almost spaffed from the sheer aviation geekery!
We left the plane and I shouted “smells like london!” because it really did smell like london haha. On return we got to ride the monorail. I was so excited, monorails are fun and I kept singing the song from the Simpsons. We left stanstead and instead of going home we ended up driving to a field and having a rave in the car…it was the funniest thing I’ve ever done! I’ll try and find the video and post it up.
Anyway it was a great trip and although not everyone I’d hoped to go actually did I managed to have a better time than I imagined! A huge thanks go to Kev, Kazzie, Mona and Inn. Especially Inn for practically documenting the entire trip on her 400d. Check out her flickr for more pictures from the trip! Much fun, thanks guys. :D
