Work is a necessary evil to be avoided
Monday the 14th arrived and with it brought the beginning of term and a fresh start for work. This term I’m taking on 6 modules, four I’m sure I’m taking but two I still need to arrange due to some clashes. Hopefully it’ll be a smooth transition so I’m not stuck with too much work to catch up on before the term has even begun, I’ve already got an essay due in as if that’s not enough already. Could be worse, I could have exams.
Uni aside though I’ve been keeping up with some small projects, like the Musers Playground and the Album Game. I latelly got a copy of Photoshop so decided to take part in a game Juuso found on the Messageboard, the aim being to make an album cover from the random syndication from a few websites. Here’s four that I uploaded to Flickr, the rules to the game are posted on the Set Description as well if you want to have a go yourself.
I’ve also been messing around with the new phpBB 3.0x forums for Mona in rebuilding FC. It’s a real improvement from 2.0x but still has so much ground to cover when trying to compete with vBulletin. Then again I’m never going to complain about something being free. The site seems to be coming together as well which means once I’ve finished adapting the forum as well it should work really well. It’s not the cleanest design and if I’m totally honest I’m not entirely happy with it but Mona seems to love it so I can’t really do much else than what she asks.
There’s a meeting for CSR tomorrow, hopefully I’ll be able to find out if I can stay on next year even if I’m not a student and also whether I’d be able to run for an Exec position. I doubt it’ll be possible but we’ll see. I might even throw up some issues about the site and how it’s a travesty of design and that frames in this day and age is appaulling for how they’ve used them.
Wow this has been quite the geeky update. I’ll make up for it with an equally geeky post about Muse in the future.
